6/1/11: The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has posted results of their analysis of which are the best sunscreen brands on the market in terms of effectiveness and safety. Click here to see if your product makes their list. We want to remind patients to minimize their sun exposure between 10am and 2pm, to use SPF-rated clothing and wide-brimmed hats while outdoors for prolonged periods (more than 20 minutes), and of course to use sunscreen to protect against skin cancer.

A New York Times article today outlined what’s in store for employer-sponsored health insurance this coming year and, not surprisingly, employers are seeking to shift costs to employees. One way this is accomplished is through the promotion of high-deductible, low premium plans where the patient is responsible for the first $1000+ of medical expenditures, often with a tax-benefit (with HSAs).
